How We Perform Our Face Treatments
Our specialists perform our facial treatments using injectables—either Juvéderm or Botox.
- Juvéderm: Juvéderm (JUVÉDERM®) is a family of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers that can enhance the volume of a targeted area. HA is a substance that is known for its ability to bind to water molecules. Each filler has different particle sizes and cross-linking to refine different areas of your face. Juvéderm continues to be a popular filler option due to its lower risk of causing allergic reactions, ease of injection, immediate results, and more. (1) Results are immediately visible after injections.
- Botox: Botox (BOTOX®) is an injectable treatment that relaxes your muscles to smooth the skin. This treatment is a neuromodulator, which means it inhibits certain neurotransmitters to suspend the dynamic facial movements responsible for visible signs of aging. (2) Botox takes about 3–5 days for initial results to show, and 10–14 days until full results are visible.

Preparation
After scheduling your procedure, you will need to begin making several preparations. Your specialist will provide you with a set of detailed instructions, which may direct you to:
- Stop Certain Medications: Discontinue using any medications or supplements that can thin out your blood.
- Adjust Your Routine: Modify your skincare routine to avoid any harsh, irritating, or abrasive products.
- Avoid UV Exposure: Wear plenty of sunscreen when leaving the house, and avoid any direct or excessive sun exposure.
- Stay Hydrated: Maintain your skin’s hydration levels by wearing moisturizer and drinking plenty of water.
- Refrain From Substance Use: If applicable, cease any alcohol or nicotine consumption in the days before and after your treatment.
Available Procedures
At Before-N-After, we offer several facial rejuvenation procedures to address a wide range of concerns. They include cheekbone contouring, lip augmentation, lip flips, and tear trough filler. During your consultation, your specialist will help you determine which treatment, or combination of treatments, best suits your goals.
Cheekbone Contouring
Cheekbone contouring, or cheek augmentation, uses dermal fillers to sculpt your cheeks and create the appearance of more prominent cheekbones. During this treatment, your specialist will use Juvéderm to target your midface.
Lip Augmentation
Lip augmentation uses dermal fillers to enhance the size and shape of your lips, as well as soften visible signs of aging around the mouth. Juvéderm injections can address these concerns and help you achieve a more youthful pout.
Lip Flip
During a lip flip, Botox relaxes the muscles in the upper lip to create the illusion of fuller lips. As the neuromodulator takes effect, the borders of the lip start to flip outwards, exposing more pigmented lip tissue. This is a great alternative for patients who do not want to add volume to the lips but still want to improve their look.
Jawline & Chin Enhancement
Jawline and chin enhancement can help you achieve a more chiseled, sharp-looking jawline. This treatment uses Juvéderm to carefully contour and sculpt the area, allowing you to strengthen the profile of your lower face.
Recovery
You will be able to return to most of your daily activities immediately after your appointment, as these treatments consist of minimally invasive injections. However, you may need to follow certain guidelines in the days following your treatment, such as:
- Refraining from touching, placing pressure, or massaging the treatment area
- Avoiding any physically demanding activities or intense exercise
- Avoiding harsh or irritating skin care products
- Avoiding applying makeup in the treated areas for at least 24 hours
You will receive more specific aftercare instructions in person. Following each one closely ensures the best possible results.
Results
The results of your facial rejuvenation procedure will vary depending on which procedure you receive, the amount of filler or Botox your specialists inject, and more. Generally speaking, your results can last between a few months and several years, depending on the targeted area and your body’s own metabolism.
Results from Juvéderm are immediate, while Botox takes a few days to relax the targeted muscles.

How will I know which treatment I qualify for?

What is the difference between lip augmentation and a lip flip?
Lip augmentation treatments use dermal fillers to plump the lips and soften wrinkles. In contrast, a lip flip uses Botox to relax specific lip muscles, exposing the pigmented portion of the lip more and making it appear fuller.
Will my face treatment leave any scars?
You will not need to worry about any scarring, as none of our face treatments require any incisions—injections only.
Can I receive multiple face treatments within one appointment?
