A liquid facelift uses injectables to define and contour the face. This treatment can target various aesthetic concerns, such as wrinkles, creases, volume loss, and more. A liquid facelift serves as a safer alternative to a surgical facelift while still providing the same lifted effects.

About Liquid Facelifts

A liquid facelift is a non-surgical treatment that uses both neuromodulators and dermal fillers to restore a more youthful-looking appearance. This treatment uses neuromodulators to address signs of aging that repeated facial contractions cause, while dermal fillers can restore areas experiencing age-related volume loss. With this combination, you can achieve a more lifted and contoured appearance without the extensive downtime, scarring, and invasive techniques of traditional facelifts.

About Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that we administer beneath the skin to fill in visible signs of aging, refine your facial sculpt, and enhance the definition of certain features. Dermal fillers are very versatile and can address concerns around the nose, mouth, cheeks, jawline, and more.

At Before-N-After, we offer the Juvéderm portfolio when performing a liquid facelift. This is a collection of dermal fillers that can target and treat different regions of the face. They include:

  • Juvéderm® VOLBELLA® XC: This formula can refine the shape and fullness of the lips while smoothing the appearance of vertical lip lines or “smoker’s lines.”
  • Juvéderm® VOLLURE® XC: This solution addresses facial lines and wrinkles, such as smile lines, marionette lines, and crow’s feet.
  • Juvéderm® VOLUMA® XC: This injectable treatment can lift and recontour the cheek and jawline to address volume loss and create a more sculpted look.

The main active ingredient in this family of fillers is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the body; it attracts and binds water to water molecules in your skin to achieve natural-looking volume. The difference between our available formulas is the degree of crosslinking. Crosslinking alters the solubility of HA, as well as its viscosity, leading to variations in your results. (1)

About Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators are injectables that can restore a more youthful appearance by addressing both pre-existing signs of aging and those that have yet to form. Neuromodulators block the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which is responsible for the repeated contractions that cause facial wrinkles and creases. (2)

This causes your muscles to relax, leaving you with smoother-looking and feeling skin.

Our practice partners with Allergan and offers Botox when performing neuromodulator injections. They have recognized and awarded us with the “Black Diamond” award, a distinction reserved for the top 1% of aesthetic practices nationwide. Our dedicated team is one of the leading injectors in the country and has helped thousands of patients elevate their confidence through their appearance.

Preparation

Once you have scheduled your liquid facelift, your specialist will give you personalized instructions to help you prepare for your injections. These instructions will be fairly straightforward, but we still ask that you follow each one to ensure a smooth procedure, quick recovery, and the best possible results. These instructions may include:

  • Refraining from taking any medications or supplements that may thin your blood.
  • Modifying your skincare routine to avoid harsh or irritating products.
  • Discontinue any nicotine use several days before your treatment.
  • Avoid drinking any alcohol leading up to your appointment.
  • Protect your skin by using plenty of sunscreen and moisturizer.
  • Arrive at your appointment with clean skin free of any makeup or skincare products.
  • Preemptively remove any facial jewelry.

Procedure

Your specialist will perform your liquid facelift in our office. Each appointment lasts approximately 30 to 60 minutes, with the exact duration varying depending on the details of your specific treatment. Your specialist will begin your injections by cleansing your skin and applying a local anesthetic.

Your specialist will then carefully administer your injectables into various areas of your face to address your specific concerns. They may inject your dermal fillers around your forehead, eyebrows, temples, cheeks, chin, and more to fill in visible signs of aging and elevate your natural facial contours.

Your specialist will administer your neuromodulator to the specific facial muscles that are more prone to repetitive movements that have caused wrinkles. These areas often include the forehead, eyebrows, or nasolabial folds.

After your specialist performs each of your desired corrections, they may massage certain areas of your face to smooth the injectables beneath the skin. You will then be free to return to your routine.

Recovery

One of the primary benefits of receiving a liquid facelift is its minimal recovery time. After receiving your injections, you will be free to return to most of your daily activities. However, there are certain guidelines you will need to adhere to as your skin heals. Your specialist may direct you to:

  • Wait to return to strenuous tasks or physical activities until your specialist has cleared you to.
  • Wear the proper sun protection when leaving the house, although we recommend avoiding excessive or direct sun exposure overall.
  • Refrain from wearing makeup or using harsh or irritating skincare products.
  • Avoid placing any pressure or massaging the treatment area for 24 to 48 hours after your appointment.

Liquid Facelifts for Post-Weight-Loss Rejuvenation

If you have recently undergone weight loss through either GLP-1 medications or traditional means, a liquid facelift can help you restore the volume and definition to areas of your face that may now appear aged, hollowed, deflated, or loose. When losing weight, it is common for your skin to become inelastic and loose rather than retract to your contours. To address this, your specialist can perform a liquid facelift to restore natural-looking definition and volume, soften signs of aging, and attain results you can feel proud to flaunt.
