Preparation

After your consultation, your specialist will give you detailed preparation instructions to help you prepare for your Kybella treatment.

Because Kybella is an injectable, nonsurgical treatment, preparation is minimal. However, as you prepare, we recommend that you maintain a balanced diet and stay hydrated. Your specialist may ask you to discontinue certain blood-thinning medications or supplements, as well as alcohol and nicotine, in the days before your treatment to help minimize swelling. Following the instructions you receive will help make for a quick recovery and optimal results.

Procedure

At the start of your session, your specialist will sterilize your skin and use a skin-safe marker to carefully mark injection sites. They will meticulously administer the Kybella formula into these designated areas. (3)

This treatment is quick, with each session lasting approximately 15-20 minutes. Most patients will benefit from several treatment sessions to see their desired results, with the majority of patients undergoing between 2-4 treatments.

Recovery

After your treatment, you may return to your daily routine, although you may experience swelling, stinging, or bruising around the injection sites. These effects are temporary and will gradually subside on their own during the following weeks.

The results of Kybella develop gradually, typically after multiple treatment sessions. Typically, patients see optimal results after 3 or more treatment sessions spaced about 1 month apart.
